On trend looks : pretty in pastels

Photography by Iris Planting
Pastels are a huge trend this season. Everywhere I go lately I'm overwhelmed with lots of pastel inspired pieces which is why I thought it would make a nice blog post topic. If like me you have a lot of black in your wardrobe candy floss pinks, baby blues, mint greens to fresh lemon shades will add an instant dash of Spring into your life. Below are some great highstreet and online finds suitable for everyones pocket whether you just want to add hints through accessories or with a statement jacket.

Vintage Charm

Theres a certain lingering charm I find about vintage fashion. It has a story and a certain mystery about it. Looking back I haven't explored a huge amount of it on Style Me Curvy, which is something I'm going to look into more for the future. This shoot came about through coming into contact with Minnesota based photographer Ally Seracki, who was looking to work together in London. She mentioned she wanted to have a vintage feel to the shoot with soft curls, so here is what I put together.

What's was my beauty bag for the sun!

Whether you live in a hot climate or perhaps you will be travelling somewhere soon, these products I've listed should be of benefit. As I was only away for the week I aimed to bring as many travel sized items as possible to make room for some of my other essentials which I couldn't size down. There is a more of an emphasis on hair care but for anyone with dry skin you will see my two must have skin saviours.

Tropical lust

This week I went to Spain for my first 'non work travel trip' in about two years. The plan of action - do absolutely nothing for a week but sit by a pool. I did try, but when your surrounded by exotic plants and beautiful surroundings you want to make the most of it, especially as a fashion blogger. I know my blogger friends reading this will totally know what I'm taking about. It would have been rude not to have done an outfit post at the hotel garden. :-p

Fabulous finds from #NextNewIn

Last week the lovely PR team at Next invited me to preview their 'Next New In' pieces at the stunning Soho hotel in London. The girls set up the event in one of the many luxurious suites the hotel has to offer. The main room held the majority of Nexts current clothing and accessories. The master room was divided by beautiful hair styling from Blow Ltd on side of the room, and intricate nail art from I Made It Myself who matched up Next's prints of the season to our nails. A brilliant idea if there ever was one for a press day, I can say the room of fashion and beauty bloggers were extremely delighted! Now onto more important matters, the fashion!:)

New Roger and Gallet Gingembre Rouge perfume review

Roger and Gallet are known for their fruity and feminine scents. For me, I find some of their products would be for an older woman as they have stronger undertones in a lot of their fragrances. So when I received this perfume recently to review, I feel in love with instantly due to its lightness. It is something which is certainly for a broader age range and for younger taste buds so I think you will all enjoy this review.
