Burgundy warmth

Just because we're heading into Winter doesn't mean we have to keep ourselves heavily covered with coats. To break up a winter wardrobe I love to layer things. I'm quite fond of Aztec cardigans at the moment which made a great excuse to put it into this weeks outfit post. Burgundy is a great alternative to black, and because it's still a dark colour you will find it easy to pair it with other items in your wardrobe. It's also a great colour on a majority of skin tones. :-)

OOTD: Baroque pants

Last week I did a shoot near Liverpool Street in London with lifestyle photographer Peter Whitfield. I happened to have had my new favourite trousers with me so we took some snaps while we were at the location.

Awear AW 2013 preview

This week I attended the A/W preview for Awear. The new season looks are entitled 'Wildlife', drawn upon by everything that surrounds the topic of nature. The collection was extremely diverse which I always like to see with great attention to detail on the accessories. If you're looking to integrate the Autumn Winter into your wardrobe, then I have to say this is a great place to look.

Outfit post: Double Denim

The denim trend is extremely popular at the moment. It is of course by no means a new trend. It has been around for years, since the 1870's to be exact. We've seen variation of denim looks from celebrities over the years from the cool to the cringe worthy, mainly the later which I would imagine established the rule 'dont match denim with denim'. Now however that rule has been thrown out the window! It's all about mixing up your denim whether it's light with dark denim, patchwork shirts with white wash denim shorts, colour popping reds or light pastel shades of denim mixed with a denim top.

A-wear S/S 2013 collection preview

Last week I was lucky enough to get a preview of A-wear's new awesomely stylish pieces. Both the designer and the PR took the time to talk me through the collection and inspirations for the looks. The essence for spring summer is a collaboration of effortless style, sweet demure looks and bold fashionista finds. If you are a working gal then you're in for a treat as they have certainly kept your needs on their list of fashion priorities. They have brought in classic workwear pieces with a twist, with gorgeous tailored blazers and PU trims, printed flattering skirts and feminine 'out of the office' day time pieces.

Each of these jackets or gilets would be perfectly practical for spring and summer particularly by mix and matching with colourful items in your wardrobe, or pairing black against clean crisp white for an on trend monochrome look.

Curves meet Designer wear: Karl Largerfeld S/S 2011

Largerfeld is the creative director of Chanel as well as an independent designer in his own right. More commonly, he has been noted in the fashion industry for sharply criticizing the use of real women or 'curvy women' in the fashion world.

I have chosen this designer not to highlight his opinions of size , but in fact to explore his change in attitude towards curves which can be seen clearly in his Spring summer 2011 collection .

The 3 pieces I have chosen are both great staples for your summer wardrobe. From the white shirt to the black maxi, and most importantly each look is 100 % curve friendly!:)

Office wear gone chic:

This look is basic but effective.
What stands out however is the crisp fit and clean lines. A-line skirts are all the rage at the moment and can be found for all shape and sizes, in all different price ranges quiet easily.

If you were to pick one key piece from this look investing in a good white shirt will certainly be worth your while this summer.

City chic:

I love this look, probably my favorite because half of my wardrobe is black but the use of red shorts is a fun burst of color to quickly brighten up your wardrobe.
For the more confident fashionistas who love the new color blocking trend, you could easily experiment by changing the top half with a bright blue, orange or yellow.

The Black Maxi :

A-line maxi with a cap sleeve to my ears! With this intense plunge neckline I wouldn't recommend this look for the heavier busted ladies. This last week I have seen plenty of alternatives out there from to Awear.
